ProteinCoat™ 

FloZein ProteinCoat

FloZein ProteinCoat provides protection for raw protein, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood.  ProteinCoat can be applied directly to the protein or incorporated into the packaging material.  ProteinCoat extends freshness and provides a barrier against microbial growth.

 

FloZein ProteinCoat can also be used with shell eggs (both commercial and hatchery) to improve shell strength and provide an oxygen, moisture, and microbial barier.

ProteinCoat - Poultry

Raw Poultry

  • Extends shelf life by locking in moisture.

  • Inhibits/controls pathogens such as: L. monocytogenes, Salmonella and Campylobacter.

  • Superior to plain water or chlorine bleach.


Commercial/Hatchery Eggs

  • Extends shelf life by creating a barrier reducing flow of O2.

  • Maintains internal quality (Haugh unit, albumen pH, yolk index) of egg during storage.

  • Increases shell strength: reduced cracking, increasing yield & reducing potential exposure to pathogens.

  • Increases the durability of the eggs while incubating and hatching, reducing embryonic/chick mortality, weak chicks, and poor chick growth.

  • Reduces post-wash bacterial contamination.

  • Superior to wax or oil.

ProteinCoat - Meat
  • Extends shelf life by locking in moisture.

  • Proven to inhibit/control Mesophiles (TVC) and Coliforms (TCC) on ground beef and pork.

  • ProteinCoat™ treated fish exhibit significant reduced levels [statistically insignificant amounts] at 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 & 15 days of Enterobacteriaceae family bacteria.

  • At 15 days, Total Volatile Basic Nitrogen (TVB-N) of coated fish was 16mg vs. 51 mg for uncoated.
